In 1890s Toronto, Detective William Murdoch investigates the city’s most disturbing murders using forensic methods that are radical for the era, from fingerprinting to trace evidence. Working within the limits and traditions of Victorian society, he is assisted by a female coroner fighting for professional recognition as they apply emerging science to difficult crimes.
